Managing Anger

Children at Key Stage 2 level often see the evidence and consequences of anger but have not the understanding or coping skills to manage it in their young lives. This programme sensitively and safely brings a sense of clarity and reassurance around a complex issue.

Our programme:

Explains, using the language and experience familiar to the children:
  • How anger is a normal and healthy part of who we are
  • How expressing anger can be done in a responsible way which doesn’t hurt others
  • How unhealthy anger comes from hurt, shame or frustration
  • How expressing unhealthy anger leaves people “in pieces”
  • The box of skills in managing anger
  • Role-plays and activities
  • Standing up for yourself in healthy ways

'Anger is a great force. If you control it, it can be transmuted into a power which can move the whole world

'Speak when you are angry - and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret'
Dr. Laurence J.Peter

'Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned'
