Drugs Awareness

Children at Primary level are only partially aware of the harmful effects of alcohol and drugs. Our programme is designed to answer many of their questions and worries. We are sensitive to the age and developmental stage of the children in how we discuss and interact throughout the presentation.

Our programme:

  • Explores their general knowledge of alcohol and drugs.
  • Explains the effects of alcohol and drugs on our brains, bodies and behaviour.
  • Highlights real-life situations when children need to be aware of potential risk.
  • Involves the pupils in simple experiments which demonstrate how easily drugs can be absorbed through taste and touch.
  • Allows the children to explore the ‘Drugs Box’.
  • Develops a range of ‘Positive Attitudes’ through interactive group work, role-play and art exploration.

Rudyard kipling

'If we can get them to understand that saying "no" to drugs is rebelling against their parents and the generations of the past, we'd make it an enormous success'
John Van de Kamp

'Drugs are a waste of time. They destroy your memory and your self-respect and everything that goes along with with your self esteem'
